About me: As an arts educator and fitness professional, I’m passionate about educating students and clients in a wide array of modalities in a fun and safe manor. My work as an actor and educator make me an outgoing, engaging, collaborative, and communicative teacher.
I completed my Masters degree at SMU in 2020. While in school, I taught many sections Art of Acting (Acting for non-majors) TA'd Voice and Speech classes, and Movement classes. This work included study of Anatomy, Alignment, Dialects, Breathwork, Dance, Tai Chi, Stage Combat, Acrobatics, and more. I also assistant directed theatrical productions at the university, working in collaboration with professors, guest professionals, and students.
I’m a certified Yoga instructor, a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and have an up-to-date CPR/AED Certification.
During the pandemic, I worked as the Physical Education teacher at Fusion Academy in Chicago, crafting unique syllabi for students according to their interests, strengths, abilities, and learning differences. Areas of study included personal training, yoga, dance, tai chi, mat pilates, barre, basketball, golf, lacrosse, baseball, soccer, and more.
Over the last few years, I’ve had the absolute delight of directing plays and leading the theatre department at Camp Manitou in Maine, producing, directing, and choreographing 4 to 6 shows over the course of 7 weeks. I’ve also coached dialects and accents for Irving School District in Texas, which led to individual coaching for students as they auditioned for colleges and further freelance work with Southern Oregon University. Remotely, I work with an executive voice coaching firm, Espeland Enterprises, coaching professionals to find confidence and breath in speech and executive embodiment.
